Nostalgia: Lowrider Arte Magazine
I used to have stacks of Lowrider Arte magazines! Every month I'd go to the grocery store and buy the latest issue. For those who weren't familiar with it, the magazine pretty much published a bunch of artwork by regular people and aspiring artists. It was usually Mexican or Chicano culture related; Aztec warriors, revolutionaries, lowriders, prison art, semi-naked Charras, Aztec princesses, Pachucas, and Cholas, family portraits, etc. Some of the artwork was amazing but most of it was of course, amateur. Lowrider Arte was killed off along with it's older brother, Lowrider Magazine on December of 2019 due to low sales.
