As it has become customary, Nike has just released their yearly Día De Los Muertos themed shoes to "celebrate" the Mexican holiday. This is what they had to say about their release.
"This collection is titled “Para Mi Familia,” which translates to “For My Family,” which is fitting as the holiday is meant to honor and celebrate the life of those in your family that have passed away. These kicks come in a purple and gold color scheme, the same colors traditionally used in decorations and altars, as purple signifies pain, suffering, grief and mourning, while gold is the color of the Cempazuchitl, marigolds that symbolize death. Petals of these flowers are used to make a trail so that the spirits can see the path to their altars."
