Simpler Times

When the only care in the world was playing soccer; at recess, during lunch, and after school. If we couldn't find a ball anything round would do and any bundled up sweaters, buckets, or pieces of trash would do just fine as goal posts. No one had or even owned soccer cleats and the balls we used weren't made by Nike or Adidas, they were cheap flea market soccer balls our parents had bought for five buck$. None of that mattered, these sweaty Mexican kids just wanted to play. I firmly believe that if our parents had had the money to enroll us in a legit Saturday soccer league some of us might have achieved great things in the sport. We'll never know.
